At Athena Montessori, we nurture young minds through hands-on, child-led learning rooted in the Montessori method — building independence, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning in White Plains and Scarsdale, NY.
From a humble beginning with two children in 2018, we've grown into a nurturing community where every child between 18 months and 6 years discovers their unique strengths.
Each program is thoughtfully designed around the Montessori philosophy — nurturing independence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning at every stage of early childhood.
A warm, nurturing environment that welcomes children from 18 months, fostering their first steps toward social, emotional, and cognitive growth through gentle Montessori activities.
Children explore practical life skills, sensory activities, pre-writing, early mathematics, and language — building a rock-solid academic foundation with joy at its heart.
The perfect blend of Montessori learning and summer fun. Outdoor adventures, creative expression, and enriching activities keep young minds engaged all season long.
A rich spectrum of enriching encounters woven into the core curriculum — from Spanish immersion and yoga mindfulness to Zumba, cooking, music, and creative art projects.
Conveniently located in White Plains and Scarsdale — both designed to feel warm, welcoming, and just like home.
Real words from the families who trust us with their most precious ones. Every review is a reminder of why we do what we do.
"Athena Montessori has been nothing short of transformative for our daughter. At 22 months, I was nervous about her first school experience — but from day one, the teachers made her feel safe, seen, and celebrated. She comes home singing and asking to go back every morning!"
"Both of our children have blossomed here. We chose Athena for the Montessori philosophy and stayed for the incredible community. The teachers truly know each child individually — their strengths, their quirks, their joys. It feels like a second family."
"The summer program was an absolute highlight of our year. My son had never been so excited to wake up in the morning. The balance between outdoor play, creative art, and continued Montessori learning kept him engaged every single day. We're already signed up for next summer!"
"We were initially unsure about Montessori, but Athena changed everything we thought we knew about early education. Our daughter learned to count in Spanish before her third birthday, and her yoga mindfulness exercises at home have us in awe every day. Truly exceptional educators."
"What sets Athena apart is the warmth you feel the moment you walk in. The staff genuinely love what they do, and it shows in every interaction with the children. My son went from shy and withdrawn to confident and outgoing in just a few months. I cannot recommend them highly enough."
"Three years with Athena Montessori and we couldn't imagine our family's journey without them. Watching our daughter grow from a curious toddler into a confident, compassionate kindergartener has been one of the greatest gifts. The cooking and music activities sparked a creativity we never knew she had."

We welcome children from 18 months to 6 years old across three core programs. Each is carefully designed around the child's developmental stage to ensure the best possible learning experience.
Enrollment begins with downloading and completing our OCFS Application Form and OCFS Medical Statement, both available on our Admission page. We also ask families to request an application packet — required for admission — and schedule a tour of the school. Visit our Admission page to get started.
We operate Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, at two convenient locations across Westchester County. Both campuses follow their own school calendars with some variation in observed holidays.
Unlike traditional preschools where children follow a fixed teacher-led curriculum, the Montessori method is child-led and self-paced. Children choose activities from a carefully prepared environment, building independence, concentration, and intrinsic motivation. Our teachers act as guides, observing and gently supporting each child's natural curiosity rather than directing it.
Our Special Activity Program enriches the core Montessori curriculum with six signature activities woven into the daily and weekly schedule, led by qualified specialist staff.
